HYPE Melonjak 20% Setelah Trump Mendukung Ekspansi Hyperliquid ke Pasar AS

President Donald Trump put Hyperliquid in the spotlight during a White House meeting with crypto industry leaders on August 19.

Trump said CFTC Chair Michael Selig is working on a way for Hyperliquid to operate legally and comply with U.S. regulations. The platform currently blocks users from the United States.

The news quickly boosted HYPE, Hyperliquid’s native token. HYPE rose from around $62 to $72 before settling near $69–$70. The token gained about 20% in 24 hours.

Hyperliquid-related ETFs also saw strong activity, recording a net inflow of $1.97 million.

Trump Opens the Door for HYPE

Trump made the comments during a White House meeting attended by major crypto companies and industry leaders, including Coinbase, Ripple, a16z, and Chainlink.

However, Trump did not announce regulatory approval for Hyperliquid. Instead, he said Selig is working on a possible path that could allow the platform to enter the U.S. market legally while following existing regulations.

Hyperliquid is a blockchain-based decentralized derivatives exchange that allows users to trade leveraged perpetual contracts without expiration dates.

Unlike traditional exchanges, Hyperliquid processes trading activity on-chain. This means orders, trades, and liquidations can be recorded and viewed on the blockchain.

The platform has grown into one of the largest venues for crypto perpetual trading and reportedly handles around 60%–80% of the market.

However, U.S. users are currently classified as restricted and cannot access Hyperliquid.

Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) welcomed Trump’s push to potentially bring Hyperliquid into the U.S. He suggested that the move could be a major development for the crypto industry.

If Hyperliquid eventually receives a compliant path to operate in the U.S., it could open the door for more decentralized trading platforms while potentially improving liquidity and giving U.S. traders more options.
